Dear UCF Community:

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ross Wolf as interim assistant provost of UCF Downtown, effective May 3. He will bring a wealth of academic and administrative leadership experience to this role as well as a passion for helping students succeed.

As UCF Downtown nears its fall opening, Dr. Wolf will work in conjunction with Dr. Pamela “Sissi” Carroll, dean of the College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE), Dr. Robert Littlefield, director of the Nicholson School of Communication and Media, Mike Kilbride, assistant vice president for UCF Downtown, and others to foster an inclusive culture that propels academic excellence.

Dr. Wolf currently serves as associate professor and associate dean in UCF’s College of Community Innovation and Education (CCIE). He will continue to serve as associate dean of CCIE during this interim appointment. He will report jointly to Dean Carroll in his role as associate dean and Provost Dooley in his role as interim assistant provost.

In his new position, Dr. Wolf will play a key role in the overall delivery of academic programs, initiatives and structures that support the faculty and students at the UCF Downtown Campus. Also, he will provide leadership and engagement to the surrounding communities and carry out a broad range of strategic and operational duties. He will work closely with academic leaders, faculty and staff to strengthen the academic infrastructure.

His other responsibilities will include:
• working with the downtown leadership team and campus communities (including Student Development and Enrollment Services, faculty, staff and students) to ensure partnership on academic and co-curricular opportunities related to downtown campus programs;
• serving as the provost’s office representative regarding all academic programs on the downtown campus;
• collaborating with UCF Downtown administrators to encourage faculty, staff and student involvement in academic and downtown campus activities;
• partnering with Valencia College staff to ensure the academic success of students enrolled in downtown programs; and
• promoting new and innovative curricula and pilot programs to encourage opportunities for academic engagement at UCF Downtown.

In addition to his work in higher education, Dr. Wolf has 28 years of experience as a law enforcement officer. He has engaged with law enforcement agencies throughout the United States and in the Caribbean, the United Kingdom, Russia, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Wolf on his new role.
