Faculty Excellence at UCF seeks a dynamic academic professional to lead the Karen L. Smith Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning (FCTL), which is devoted to teaching excellence, faculty success, and development.
A nationwide search is underway for the position that provides leadership to the university community in promoting outstanding teaching and learning as UCF strives to become the world’s leading public metropolitan university. Among other duties, the director supervises center staff to design innovative new programming and provide a broad range of professional growth opportunities for faculty; prepares and manages the annual budget; oversees communication and event planning; leads the design, coordination, and assessment of the center’s programs; and represents the FCTL (and thereby, faculty) in various campus-wide committees, working groups, and task forces.
The position will carry an administrative title of director and a faculty job title of lecturer, associate lecturer, senior lecturer, associate professor or professor. For the ranks of associate professor or professor, candidates must have a record commensurate with an appointment as a tenured faculty member in an appropriate discipline.
