A New Name and Phase for a Key UCF Project to Shape the Future

Knight Vision is an opportunity for UCF to improve many aspects of its operations for staff, faculty and students.

From Michael D. Johnson, Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs; Misty Shepherd, Interim Vice President for Administration and Finance; and Joseph Trubacz, Interim Chief Financial Officer

We are pleased to introduce the UCF community to Knight Vision, a transformational effort to improve business processes across the university.

Formerly known as the “Cloud ERP Transformation Project,” Knight Vision will replace PeopleSoft and many other duplicate applications with a modern platform to support our administrative activities. But this is much more than a software project. Knight Vision will modernize our business processes – beginning with financial and HR activities – bringing them up to industry standards. As the name suggests, Knight Vision will illuminate a path to greater operational efficiency and effectiveness and will improve transparency, accountability, and data-driven decision-making.

The project will have several phases over the next several years. Phase 1, beginning this fall, features a new ERP for Financial and HR operations, Planning & Budgeting, and Reporting and Analytics. This is expected to take two years. When this is complete, Phase 2 will implement a new student system. This major project will call for the focused efforts of many people. It will also require us to set priorities with Peoplesoft and other legacy systems, making only absolutely necessary modifications so that we can focus on work that will best enable us to move forward with the new implementation.

The choice of the new ERP software and an implementation partner is underway now through a competitive procurement process that will soon be complete. More than 500 UCF employees have been engaged in the selection process, and our campus community will become even more involved as we plan for, and begin, implementation.

More information will come, and there will be many opportunities to remain engaged with this important project.

Knight Vision is an opportunity for UCF to improve many aspects of operation and prepare for a better future. We appreciate your support of this important project.
