Announcing a Transfer Connect Initiative to Benefit Transfer Students

One way in which UCF is a model for the 21st century is the inclusive learning environment we seek to provide to support all students. A wealth of experience, talent, and diversity is brought to us by our transfer students. I am writing to announce an important organizational change designed to help our transfer students thrive.

All advising of transfer students is a collaboration between UCF Connect, which is part of the Division of Student Learning and Academic Success, and UCF’s colleges and divisions. Central efforts in UCF Connect will be divided between DirectConnect students and other transfer students. The DirectConnect to UCF program will continue to serve students transferring from our six state college partner institutions. A new Transfer Connect program will serve all other transfer students transitioning from other higher education institutions.

A new Transfer Success Team is also being organized. This group of faculty, staff, and students will research best practices, examine issues facing our transfer students, and develop processes to promote transfer success, progression, and graduation.

Thank you for your help in advancing our transfer student success efforts. Together, we are creating opportunities that will change lives and livelihoods.
