Seeking Applicants for Associate Provost for UCF Downtown

The associate provost will oversee campus and academic operations, partnerships, initiatives, and community relations for UCF’s urban campus.

I am pleased to invite applicants from within UCF for the role of associate provost for UCF Downtown. The associate provost will oversee campus and academic operations, partnerships, initiatives, and community relations for UCF’s urban campus.

This dynamic leader will foster a robust academic environment that promotes student success, faculty excellence, innovation, and community engagement. Developing these areas of excellence at UCF Downtown is key to UCF becoming a world-leading public metropolitan research university.

Candidates must be current tenured faculty members at UCF at the rank of associate professor or professor. The position will report to the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs as a member of the provost’s leadership team. The associate provost will lead UCF’s partnership with Valencia College Downtown and collaborate with UCF academic leaders and many UCF units to develop a high-quality and holistic academic experience for students of all backgrounds.

A key aspect of this position is cultivating relationships with downtown stakeholders, including the City of Orlando, business partners (e.g., Creative Village Development), Orange County Public Schools and other education entities, non-profit organizations, and nearby residential neighborhoods (e.g., via the Parramore Community Engagement Council). The associate provost will engage community members to develop an interconnected environment that promotes access, innovation, and societally significant research.
