UCF Fall Withdrawal Deadline Extended to Nov. 4

The week extension for students results from the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.

Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues:

Hurricane Ian adversely affected many UCF students, some quite seriously. To support our students’ academic success and well-being, UCF is extending the fall course withdrawal deadline through Friday, Nov. 4 (a week extra).

Ian resulted in five lost class days at UCF, disrupting teaching, assignments and tests. Extending the withdrawal deadline provides more time for students to consult with advisors, instructors, success coaches and family as they weigh their options. The extra week helps us do everything we can to keep students on track in pursuit of their degrees.

Students are being alerted about the extended withdrawal date through emails, texts and social media now and up to the deadline. If you are working with students who are struggling because of the hurricane, please inform them of the new withdrawal date, and encourage them to reach out to their advisors.

I am deeply grateful to all of you who have helped students struggling in the storm’s aftermath. Your understanding, flexibility and compassion make a big difference in a hard moment. Thank you
