From Dr. Jana L. Jasinski, Pegasus Professor and Vice Provost for Faculty Excellence
Due to the unique circumstances of COVID-19 and the many challenges our faculty are facing during this time, UCF is providing the opportunity for tenure-earning faculty to extend their tenure-earning period by one year.
All presently employed tenure-earning faculty who will apply for tenure during or after the 2020-2021 academic year are eligible. Faculty who are currently scheduled to submit their tenure dossier in August 2020 are eligible.
To facilitate this process, we have created a special COVID-19 tenure clock extension form posted on the Faculty Excellence webpage.
Those excluded from this opportunity are faculty who have already been considered for tenure this academic year (that is, those who submitted their dossier in fall 2019, and those tenure-track faculty who will begin their employment with UCF on or after April 1, 2020).
We have also created some FAQs that are posted to the Faculty Toolkit.
Key information:
- This tenure clock extension is optional.
- Faculty planning to submit their dossier in August 2020 must submit the form by May 15.
- Faculty planning to submit their dossier in August 2021 or later must submit the form by September 1.
- All submitted requests will be approved.
