Biography

Christopher Ingersoll is the founding dean for the College of Health Professions and Sciences at UCF where he leads a multidisciplinary team of scholars in providing innovative healthcare education and clinical services that address the needs of our Central Florida community and society. Ingersoll’s professional and research interests align with the field of sports medicine and he has published and presented on athletic training and neuroscience topics throughout his educational career. His substantial contributions to the field resulted in him being named to the National Athletic Trainers Association Hall of Fame. He has served as editor-in-chief for the Journal of Athletic Training and the Journal of Sport Rehabilitation and in 2010, he was elected to the World Association of Medical Editors. His involvement in the field of athletic training and health education has earned him the designation of fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Association of Schools of Advancing Health Professions.
